OUR COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE

Improving and growing together

RESPECTING HUMAN RIGHTS

Being fully aware of the crucial role the handbag industry plays in our society, we contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We are committed to ensuring that human rights are respected at all times, both within our Factory and throughout our supply chain. Our factory Conduct Manual outlines fundamental principles, including the prohibition of forced labour, the freedom to join trade unions and the right to collective bargaining, the prohibition of child labour and exploitation, the prohibition of discrimination in the workplace, and the obligation to ensure and maintain a safe and healthy workplace. The SA8000 Social Accountability Management System Standard certification confirms the Group’s sensitivity to these issues, certifying our respect for all human rights and the application of health and safety standards in all our production facilities.

We value our human capital, because people are a valuable asset and play a key role in our Factory’s sustainable growth. We safeguard the wellbeing of all our employees and invest in talent management, including learning and training. We see the relationship with trade unions as an important collaboration in order to always improve working conditions and support the needs of workers.

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT

We select our supply chain carefully to ensure that all suppliers respect the principles underpinning the Factory’s sustainability strategy. Selection is done by means of a Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) and periodic audits to confirm the respect of local legislation on matters such as human rights, health and safety, and environment protection, the absence of corruption and compliance with Gewala’s quality standards. Our Corporate Responsible Sourcing Supplier Manual is a tool that enables us to ensure maximum transparency from suppliers and avoid human rights violations all along the supply chain.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

Materials are just as important as the product’s design and finding the right materials can be critical. We will ensure that the materials sourced for your project will match your vision, but also align with your company’s sustainability or human rights policies.

OUR CUSTOMERS

Meeting our customer’s needs is a priority for us. Providing transparent information about our materials, processes, products and the impact of our business on people and environment is central to our relationship of trust and respect with our customers.
